£500 unframed or £550 framed. In June 2005, Chris Gollon produced a series of 3 three beautiful single-line hard-ground etchings at the Cambridgeshire-based Limberhurst Press print studio. Chris Gollon chose single-line etchings over the cross-hatching or aquatint techniques used previously, since he was interested to focus on the abstract beauty of the shapes within the image and on the simple lyricism of single lines. This is a delicate work because of the few lines, but the correct drawing gives her considerable life and presence.
The paper is a deep cream. If purchasing a framed work, we usually float-mount it on a lighter cream museum board, and then box frame and glaze in a dark, chocolate-brown stained ash frame. This strangely gives it a 1920s feel, perhaps because of the echoes of Matisse and Picasso Gollon achieves in his lines.
