Maggi Hambling: Latest Acquisitions
Maggi Hambling is a household name in British art. She was the First Artist in Residence at the National Gallery in 1981. Her sculpture ‘Scallop’ to celebrate British composer Benjamin Britten was unveiled on Aldeburgh beach in 2003. Her portraits of Max Wall and George Melly hang in the National Portrait Gallery. Public collections holding her work include: The Tate Gallery, Whitworth Art Gallery and the National Gallery.
