In 2009, IAP Fine Art obtained a Consumer Credit Licence and joined the Arts Council of England’s OWN ART Scheme. We are now also part of OWN ART Plus. Therefore we can now offer new or exisiting collectors to pay or part pay for any work of art up to a total of £25,000 over ten monthly payments and interest-free. The minimum spend using OWN ART is £100 and the maximum is £25,000. It is open to UK residents only and those employed for over 16 hours per week, or those retired or self-employed. Many of our collectors use this scheme regularly to pay for prints or paintings. So even if you’re buying a small painting at £2,300, you can take the painting home with you and only pay £230 per month interest-free for 10 months.
In December 2009, human rights barrister Tasaddat Hussain used the Own Art Scheme to part pay for a commission. He commissioned Chris Gollon to paint a work on the theme of Justice. Alan Yentob, BBC Creative Director, visited Chris Gollon’s studio and also IAP Fine Art as his BBC camera crew followed Chris through the process of painting the work. The BBC1 ‘Imagine’ programme presented by Alan Yentob was broadcast in December 2009 and focused on a variety of collectors from all backgrounds who had started and built interesting collections using the Own Art Scheme.
