Own Art

In 2009, IAP Fine Art obtained a Consumer Credit Licence and joined the Arts Council of England’s OWN ART Scheme. The scheme allows new or exisiting collectors to pay or part pay for any work of art up to a total of £2,000 over ten monthly payments and interest-free. The minimum spend using Own Art is £100 and the maximum is £2,000. It is open to UK residents only and those employed for over 16 hours per week. Many of our collectors use this scheme regularly to pay for prints or paintings, or use it to part pay for works of art that are above £2,000.

In December 2009, human rights barrister Tasaddat Hussain used the Own Art Scheme to part pay for a commission. He commissioned Chris Gollon to paint a work on the theme of Justice. Alan Yentob, BBC Creative Director,  visited Chris Gollon’s studio and also IAP Fine Art as his BBC camera crew followed Chris through the process of painting the work. The BBC1 ‘Imagine’ programme presented by Alan Yentob was broadcast in December 2009 and focused on a variety of collectors from all backgrounds who had started and built interesting collections using the Own Art Scheme.

If you would like to purchase a work using Own Art, once proof of identity and address are supplied, it takes just 15 minutes in the gallery to apply online. Once the application is accepted online, the work of art can be taken home and enjoyed. The first of the ten interest-free monthly payments is then taken approx 3 weeks later. Please contact us for further information. To see an Arts Council of England short film of a Chris Gollon collector talking about the Own Art scheme, click: here.
