This 45-minute documentary by Achim Jedelsky and Martin Koddenberg follows Chris Gollon through his time as Fellow & First Artist in Residence at the Institute of Advanced Study, Durham University in early 2009. It shows Chris Gollon collaborating with some of the world’s leading thinkers gathered at the IAS to work on the Being Human project. Tamsin Pickeral devotes a whole chapter of her book ‘CHRIS GOLLON Humanity in Art’ to this series of ‘Being Human’ paintings, and to the cross-pollenation of ideas between Gollon and the leading academics. This film is a fascinating insight into Gollon’s working methods, his personal experiences, thoughts and his conversations with the Fellows, culminating in an exhibition at IAP Fine Art, London.
