Chris Gollon produced the painting 'Jane' for a show early in his career, which took place at the Crypt Gallery, St Martin's- in-the-Fields, curated by an early incarnation of IAP Fine Art.

It was one of the earliest paintings where the artist was breaking away from representation, to work from his imagination, and it shows in the female figure, the rebellious punk spirit that Gollon also had, described well by Thurston Moore in the new documentary 'CHRIS GOLLON: Life in Paint' (see Films page).

The companion piece is the only guitar Chris Gollon ever painted. The original acoustic Burns guitar was a gift from his friend Keith Hopkins (stage name Keith West), who was 9 yrs his senior, and who wrote "Excerpt from A Teenage Opera" ("Grocer Jack"), which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart in 1967.
