We have decided to to include another new work by Possible Mirror in the 'Emergence and Transformation - Revisited' exhibition, since it juxtaposes well with Sir Terry Frost's 'Claro de Reloj (Pause of the Clock)', not just in the use of black; but in its nod to familiar forms which remain timeless, as described in the text below. Possible Mirror also fits the transformation theme perfectly, as they are constantly innovating and finding new ways to transform and merge both fine art and design, in which–quite literally–we can see ourselves as we emerge into the 'new normal' for exercise or work.

The sixth in the ‘Quadrant’ series by Possible Mirror, an ongoing series of unique square-format mirrors. This work is inspired by the Russian artist Kasimir Malevich (1879 - 1935), who used the cross motif in his influential abstract paintings..

The subtle variations on a theme continue here. This Quadrant gives both a nod to Nos. 1 and 5, the other two-colour compositions from the series; but it is also a bold departure from the monochrome of No.5. The introduction of a bold, warm red, contrasted with black, pulls forward a powerful composition giving a tension between hinted crosses, squares and triangular forms.

The pattern and colours vary with each individual mirror and are unique to that particular piece. A simple-to-use hanging system allows the art mirror to be hung easily flush against the wall in either orientation, square or diagonal, to suit the setting.

The composition takes a mirrored glass panel with polished edges, thoughtfully juxtaposed with four unique hand painted panels in artist's acrylic, before being mounted into a hand-finished American white oak frame, which has been sealed and waxed.

Possible Mirror’s carefully composed art-related works offer strikingly original focal points for any room in your home, and they are very collectable. They can also be specifically commissioned to be custom made in different colours or sizes, to suit both domestic and corporate spaces. Each mirror is handmade, then stamped, numbered and signed on the reverse. Please contact us for more details, or click Enquire.
