'Seurat' is a hand-made, hand-painted unique mirror.

The frame is constructed in beechwood and and the upper panel contrasts three apertures and four panels. Each panel contains a postcard of a drawing by Georges Seurat (1859 – 1891), framed behind museum grade glass. The original drawing, entitled Female Nude, is in the collection of the Courtauld Gallery, London. The base section consists of a set of vertical stripes, almost an abstract composition, the proportions of which carefully derive from the drawing.

All the colours used are from the Farrow & Ball range: Matchstick and Hardwick White for the frame, and Downpipe, Pink Ground, Blue Black and Tallow for the base stripes. The design and colours deliberately echo frames and mirrors of Seurat's era, but alongside a modern interest in abstraction.

The square has polished edges and is feather-floated within the central tray section, the inside of which is painted Off Black. The easy-to-use hanging system allows the mirror to be hung flush to the wall. Please contact us for further details.
