This charcoal drawing comes to us from a private collection, and it is unseen since Maggi Hambling's major solo exhibition 'MAGGI HAMBLING: Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours' at Serpentine Gallery, London, 1987. It featured in the exhibition catalogue and is a study for a large painting in the same exhibition entitled 'Pasiphae & The Bull'. Original label from Serpentine Gallery exhibition on reverse of the frame.
