This early work by Chris Gollon came just after his first solo museum show at the Ferens Gallery. Here, the artist is starting to depart from realism, painting images wholly from his imagination, and beginning to set his figures on stages. It came just before his acclaimed 'Road to Narragonia' series which really began the development of his strong style. This early work also shows him experimenting with acrylic and mixed media techniques on panel, and varnishing his paintings.
