This painting takes its title and is partially inspired by Bob Dylan's great 1964 ballad 'Desolation Row'. Chris Gollon enjoyed mathematics, and was also interested in physics. He also had great empathy, and once said of this painting that one might also look at it as that someone is just so poor, that they cannot even get the reflection they are owed.
