Sara Maitland

Sara Maitland is an award-winning novelist and writer, and was introduced by Fr Alan Green to Chris Gollon's Fourteen Stations of the Cross midway through, just as funds were running out.  She kindly funded Gollon's Stations of the Cross (VIII): Jesus Speaks to the Women of Jerusalem. This public gesture gave a fillip to the project's fundraising, which led to Chris Gollon completing all fourteen paintings by 2008. Sara Maitland was so taken with them that they inspired her to write 'Stations of the Cross' (Bloomsbury, London & New York) a collection of short stories, each inspired by one of Gollon's Stations, all of which are reproduced. in the book. IAP Fine Art subsequently published a Special Collector's Edition, which can be purchased here: Gallery Shop

In 2014, IAP Fine Art worked again with Sara, since she wrote the foreword to the catalogue accompanying 'Incarnation, Mary and Women from the Bible', Chris Gollon's national touring exhibition to English cathedrals. In 2018, IAP Fine Art invited her to write a text for the fine art catalogue 'St Ethelflaeda',  which we published to commemorate the purchase and permanent installation of Chris Gollon's diptych by the Grade I listed Romsey Abbey.
