St. John on Bethnal Green

The Church of St John on Bethnal Green is a Grade I listed church designed by Sir John Soane, next to the Museum of Childhood in East London. IAP Fine Art has worked St John on Bethnal Green since 2000, when the commission was given to Chris Gollon to paint Fourteen Stations of the Cross, a major series of large site-specific paintings, which were installed in 2009 and subsequently blessed by Richard Chartres, Bishop of London. Gollon's paintings were Critic's Choice in the Ft and The Times, and featured widely in the media, including BBC TV News and BBC Radio 4. We assisted the Church in raising funds for the commission and in 2019 published a monograph, reproducing all fourteen paintings, along with some of the studies, and texts by leading writers and art historians, which may be purchased here: Gallery Shop
