In 2005, Chris Gollon chose to work with master printmaker Ian Wilkinson at the Cambridgeshire-based Limberhurst Press print studio. Ian has worked with many leading contemporary artists including Paula Rego, John Bellany, Eduardo Paolozzi, Elizabeth Frink and Anthony Gormley. In a very creative, technical collaboration with Ian Wilkinson, and using nineteen silk-screens, Chris Gollon produced 'Einstein', his first edition of silk-screen prints.

Published by IAP Fine Art, Einstein is edition of 100 silk-screen prints, each signed and numbered by the artist and made to celebrate 2005 as the centenary of Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity. This strong and richly-coloured image has an extraordinary, iconic gold background, which has the effect of a gold, reflective river when viewed from different angles.

This silk-screen print also has museum provenance, since it was shown in the solo exhibition at Huddersfield Art Gallery to mark the aquisition for the museum’s permanent collection of the large painting ‘Einstein & The Jealous Monk’ by Chris Gollon, for which this print is also a study.

In 2006, the copyright was leased from Chris Gollon (for this image and two others) via the Bridgeman Art Library to Random House Publishing in New York for use on the cover of a new book entitled 'My Einstein' edited by John Brockman.
